You must believe in Spring…

or so said Bill Evans.  And we wouldn’t argue with him.  Firstly because he was about as good as they come and deserves our respect, and secondly because there really isn’t any rational justification for not believing in Spring.  Spring is immutable. Spring is sprung. Or just about.  And with that…THE NEWS:

September is going to be a busy time for the Gin Club.  Things kick off in Melbourne with a couple of shows that promise to be pretty awesome.  Friday 3rd we’ll be playing at the Retreat in Brunswick, doing a couple of sets and then DJing till they kick us out.  Entry is FREE!  Saturday 4th we’ll be doing an instore at Basement Discs (Block Place, in the city) at 12:15.  That one is free too!  Then on Sunday night we’re playing at Yah Yah’s Second Birthday Party – the line-up is truly stupendous (Digger & the Pussycats, Eagle and the Worm, Mike Noga & the Gentlemen of Fortune, Chrome Nips, Clinkerfield, Davey Lane & the Psychotic Pineapples, Chirs Altmann – and heaps more I can’t even remember) so make sure you get your tickets.

From there it’s back up to Brisbane to play a few shows as part of the annual Big Sound conference.  As if that wasn’t exciting enough, these shows will mark the return of the one and only Ola Karlsson, direct from Stockholm.  Come along and say g’day, his English is always hilarious when he first arrives in the country.   See details below.

Later in September we’ll be playing at the famous Spiegeltent, as part of the Brisbane Festival, before it’s back to Melbourne to play as part of Mick Thomas’s famous Grand Final Eve Spectacular at the Palace, with Weddings Parties Anything.

We’ll take a bit of a breather in October, but we’re hitting the road again in November, for a full Australian tour (yes! even Perth, Hobart and Adelaide!) so keep an eye out for details.

I’ll sign off for now.  Stay in touch, hope to see you all soon.
